One Key Wardrobe Piece Styled Four Ways: Tan/Nude Maxi Skirt

I don’t know what is going on with the weather here in Michigan this year. Our summer has been pretty lame. I feel like I am living in Seattle again what with the mild temperatures and rain. I am against it. I haven’t been in the water once this year. This is unheard of. I also feel like I can’t even enjoy my summer clothes. Shallow? Yes, in the big scheme of things it is, but darn it, bad weather makes me foul tempered.

While the weather has been uncooperative, I’ve been playing around with creating outfits that I’d like to wear when, and if, summer ever decides to arrive. I’m a huge fan of maxis in the summertime. Maxi dresses. Maxi skirts. Maxi pads. (Gotcha!) They are incredibly comfortable and breezy on hot days. However, the majority of them tend to be pretty casual, which limits your wearability. Is that even a word? I really liked this one from Zara the moment I saw it. The fabric is dressier than most other options out there, which I think makes it more versatile for styling (and profiling). The color is a great neutral option too.

Here’s the link to the Polyvore board if you would like to see where all the items I used came from.  I seem to have a thing for nude shoes and satchel bags…
