Hi friends! I hope everyone is doing well. This Christmas craziness is ALMOST over. It’s been nuts for me. You, too? Just a few more days to power through and then I can settle in for some well deserved relaxation. Today was my last day of work until January 3rd. Holiday shut down is one of my favorite things about working in the automotive industry. The OEMs (Ford, GM, Fiat/Chrysler) and the majority of the tier one suppliers shut down for the holidays. I get that time off paid. Woot woot!
I’ve been looking for a midi skirt for a while that would work with my body shape. I love the look of them, but 99.9% of them do not look good on me. I keep trying them because I am a glutton for punishment. Pleated midis are especially atrocious on me. Like throw it on the floor and stomp on it, bad. BAD. Shorter, straight skirts work best on me. They hug my curves, show off my legs and don’t add extra bulk to my already bulky areas.
When I saw this skirt I thought I’d give it a whirl. I was feeling especially adventurous that day. I was amazed that I didn’t hate it. In fact, I liked it. I liked it a lot. I think that it works because the top layer is so sheer. The short skirt underneath and the lace panels allow my legs to show. So, it’s essentially a short skirt with a sheer layer over top. I’m so glad I didn’t give up on my midi-skirt dreams!
Merry Christmas to all of you who celebrate. I hope you enjoy your time with family and friends!
