Warmer weather has FINALLY arrived here in Michigan! YES! I live for this time of year. Spring was seriously dragging it’s heels, but the next few days in the forecast look glorious. I don’t like to be in the sun per se (wrinkles and melanoma), but I love warm temperatures. It’s time to bring on the dresses and skirts.
I bought this Everlane striped cotton poplin shirt dress last summer and still love it. (Review post here.) Although… It’s a bit tighter in the hips since last year because I have put on some weight. It’s amazing what 7-8 (OK 9 or 10) pounds will do. I’m working on getting back on track. I actually rejoined Weight Watchers because I need a little refresher course and the accountability. It’s amazing how many points are in some items that I was eating all the time. Yikes. While I am nowhere near my highest weight I needed to stop the creep.
I’m a big believer in wearing items in my closet over and over. Work horses. If I don’t wear it, it needs to go. I’m continually culling the herd of garments in my closet. I look at some people’s jammed packed, overstuffed closets and it seriously give me an anxiety attack. I would rather have less items that are good quality work horses, than a zillion things that I don’t wear. That’s what I like about every item I’m wearing here. This shirt dress can be dressed up, or down as I have done here. I chose to go super casual and wear it with a denim jacket and some fun colored sneakers. However, it would look great with some nude strappy heeled sandals, white blazer, and smashing gold necklace. Hmmmm… If I only wore heels.
And seriously, if you don’t have a denim jacket yet, just go buy one already. My price per wear on this thing is less than a cent at this point . I wear it all the time. It’s a perfect topper for dresses. Especially, if you don’t love your arms.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
