A salmon pink sequin skirt is not practical by any stretch of the word. However, I fell in love with this dang thing on my quest to add more show ponies to my closet. I’m not allowing myself to buy anything that is practical. My wardrobe is chock full of practical items. The only practical thing that I need is a pair of black flats.
Here’s how things have been going…
SCENE: Me seeing something practical that can be worn a zillion ways.
Me: “Oh, that’s cute and practical! It’s such a great basic. I can wear it with so many items that I already have in my closet.”
Brain: “PUT IT DOWN! YOU DON’T NEED ANYTHING PRACTICAL. IF YOU BUY ONE MORE BLACK SWEATER… I SWEAR TO GOD ASHLEY, I’M GOING TO KICK YOUR ASS!”
Me: “Geez… OK… But… What about…”
Brain: “NO. PUT IT DOWN AND DON’T EVEN TRY THAT ADDING TO CART SNEAKY BUSINESS.”
Me: “Fine. Whatever.” (hair flip, eye roll)
When I ordered this sequin skirt from J. Crew, I fully expected to hate it. Well, color me surprised… I love it. I went back and forth on it for several weeks, because it’s not practical. I almost returned twice, but then I’d try it on again and I still loved it. I think this is going to look great with a black cashmere sweater, black tights, and black booties when it gets cooler. It will be something fun to wear for a night out or to a holiday party. No one looks twice at sequins during the holidays.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a fabulous week.
